Korean fried Chicken (Yangnyeom Chicken)

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g Chicken Thigh
  • 100 ml Milk
  • 5 tbsp Cornflour

Sauce Ingredience

  • 1 tbsp Gochujang
  • 2 tbsp Ketchup
  • 4 tbsp Honey
  • 1 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1/2-1 tbsp Korean Chilli powder (If you prefer)
  • 1 tsp Garlic (grated)
  • 50 ml Water
  • 10 Walnuts (or Almond)

Instructions
 

  • Cut chicken thighs into 25g pieces and soak them in milk for 20 minutes to 2 hours.
  • Put the chicken thighs soaked in milk into a strainer and drain.
  • Wipe off the moisture from chicken thighs with kitchen paper and cover the chicken with cornflour.
  • Put oil in the frying pan and heat it up. Fry chicken at 180 degrees for 3 minutes and take it out.(If the chicken is whitish at this point, add 1 more minute)
  • Let the chicken rest on a mesh tray for 5 minutes and fry it for another 2 minutes at 190 degrees.

How to make sauce

  • Crush walnuts into small pieces.
  • Put all the sauce ingredients except walnuts in the pot and boil it down a little.
  • Lastly, add walnuts to the sauce. (Keep a few walnuts for topping.

finishing up

  • Put fried chicken thighs in the sauce.
  • Arrange it on a plate and sprinkle it up with walnuts. Enjoy!
